Dear AUNBT member
As we informed you earlier today, we have reached a tentative agreement with UNB on our 13th Full-time Collective Agreement. In order to move it towards ratification, we have several steps to cover.
Bargaining concluded on Monday, June 27. On June 28, the Team met with the Collective Bargaining Committee and it was agreed that the tentative deal should be presented to the Collective Bargaining Council (at a previously scheduled meeting) on June 30. At that meeting the Team will present the details of the agreement to Council for information and discussion. Council members will then have the opportunity to report back to their constituents, then, at a subsequent meeting to be scheduled for Wednesday, July 6, Council will be asked whether it recommends for or against the agreement and that it be brought to our membership for ratification. A membership meeting will be held on July 8 (time and place to be confirmed later) where the agreement will be explained in detail and members will have the opportunity to ask any questions they might have.
Following that, there will be a ratification vote, on Monday July 11 and Tuesday July 12.
Specific times and locations for each of these meetings/events will be announced as soon as space can be booked on both campuses.
I will take this opportunity to remind members that current policies of AUNBT do not allow for either electronic or proxy voting.
