Congratulations to STUSAU

As a member of the UCLC (United Campus Labour Council), we received the following message from STUSAU, who have been seeking a first collective agreement for over four years:

Dear UCLC Sisters and Brothers,

STUSAU and their employer have been working through mediation this week to reach ‘an agreement in principle’.

Both sides have now come to a general agreement on various items, and are finalizing the language so that the membership can vote on the tentative collective agreement!

This means the negotiating team feels that we have achieved enough improvements since the membership rejected the employers final offer to recommend the tentative collective agreement. We will have a ratification vote on Monday Feb.9th.

Sisters and Brothers, we thank each and every one of you for your solidarity throughout these past 4.5 years, and most especially throughout these last few months! We, the executive and mobilization team, have gained so much knowledge and energy from working with such a passionate and involved group of Unions. We sincerely look forward to continuing as active members of the UCLC, and working with such amazing activists!

We will not be releasing this publicly to the media until Sunday, Feb 1 at 7 PM.

Thank you, brothers and sisters, for your solidarity,

The STUSAU negotiating team, and every single member….
