I am delighted by the Full Time Collective Bargaining Themes and in particular, identifying the need to be “student-centred”. That being the focus, means that we must return to transparency and accountability as well as a balance between those who are tasked with administering and those that are responsible for academics. I can only speak for myself, but I have become increasingly concerned about the emphasis on “business” – capital projects, branding activities. I think it is time to remember that our primary work is that of education and research and that the individuals we are responsible to are our students. Thank you for the work you are doing.
